RN Weekend – 1C Cardiovascular Intervention Progressive Care Unit

Employment Type: Regular Employee
Hours: 24 hrs/week (paid for 32 hrs/week), 7pm–7:30am (weekend)
SummaryGuided by knowledge of the basic principles of nursing based on the biological, physical, and psycho‑social sciences, utilizes judgment supported by evidence and nursing theory in the delivery of nursing care. Provides, coordinates, and/or delegates nursing care and manages resources in the delivery of care for patients, the families of patients, and the community, with the goal of attaining, maintaining, and restoring optimum health.
EducationRequirements
- BSN (Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing) – if an associate’s degree, must obtain BSN within 3 years of employment.
- Graduate of a program accredited by CCNE or ACEN.
- Current license to practice registered nursing in Ohio.
- Per diem RNs: at least 1 year recent experience in the area of practice.
- Float positions: 2 years related RN experience; for critical care, experience must include intensive and/or coronary care; for telemetry, include telemetry.
- Additional preparation may be required for specialty units.
- Full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual/finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Working under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other hazards common to clinical environment.
- Maintains Basic Life Support certification; new to critical care/telemetry/PACU/ED must complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months and maintain current certification. Experienced RNs hired for per diem positions must have ACLS upon hire; if not, obtain within 6 weeks.
Ability to effectively interact with diverse populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self‑respect, dignity and diversity.
Physical DemandsHeavy:
Exerts 50‑100 lbs of force occasionally, 25‑50 lbs frequently, or 10‑20 lbs continuously to move objects.
