About This Role
The Experienced RN Critical Care Float Staff position at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital involves providing nursing care to patients of all ages in the Surgical Intensive Care (SICU) and Medical Intensive Care (MICU) Units. This role is ideal for those looking to make a lasting difference in patient lives while advancing their skills.

- Facility: Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital
- Schedule: Part-time, Day shift
- Complete ongoing assessments and respond to significant changes in patient condition.
- Develop and update goals involving the patient/family in the process.
- Provide nursing care and administer medications/treatments.
- Participate in interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
- Delegate tasks to employees according to their abilities and acknowledge peer accomplishments.
- Complete Critical Care Course and NIH Stroke Scale training if new to critical care.
- Review and document progress of care and discharge goals with patient/family.
- Accept responsibility for becoming a consistent caregiver for complex care needs.
- Participate in patient care, discharge planning, and case management conferences.
- Assist in orientation of RNs, LPNs, and other hospital personnel.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (ADN or BSN program) required
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Experience:
- One year of current RN ICU or acute care experience in a hospital setting required
Licenses &
Certifications:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within one year of hire required
