RN – Clinical Decision Unit

About This Role

As an RN in the Clinical Decision Unit at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, you will provide direct nursing care and ensure the best treatment experience for patients with a wide range of medical concerns.   Full‑time, Night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.)

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Serve as a patient advocate.
• Administer treatments and medication, and document care provided.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks/assignments and serve as a resource person.
• Maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) required.
• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Maintains competencies specific to patient population served.

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required.
