RN – Women’s Medical​/Surgical & Postpartum

About This Role

The RN in the Women’s Medical/Surgical & Postpartum Unit at Cleveland Clinic Akron General provides compassionate, safe care to mothers and babies. This role is ideal for nurses who are dedicated to patient-centered care and are looking to work in a supportive environment.

• Location: Akron, OH
• Facility: Cleveland Clinic Akron General
• Schedule: Full-time, Night shift

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Develop and update goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medications, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Delegate tasks/assignments and serve as a resource person/mentor.
• Complete admission assessments of maternal and/or infant patients.
• Communicate timely information regarding changes in patient condition.
• Ensure JCAHO Core Measures related to nursing care are achieved.

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• No specific experience required

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire or within one year
• Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within six months of hire
