About This Role

The RN Specialist – Medical Emergency Team at Cleveland Clinic Akron General is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care processes to improve patient outcomes and reduce medical emergencies. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
  • Develop processes and systems for identifying patients requiring critical assessment and intervention.
  • Implement action plans identified through analysis of data and case reviews.
  • Participate as a CRRC member/leader.
  • Perform entry of cases into the quality data review tool and present cases to CRRC meetings.
  • Analyze and remain current with evidence-based practice and recommend adoption of standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Provide education and training for nursing caregivers related to code response roles.
  • Collaborate with nursing professional development to provide mock codes and simulation.
  • Round on all inpatient units to discuss patients being followed by MET or those with clinical issues.
  • Respond to rapid response and code blue calls and provide critical care nursing until stabilization.
Requirements
Education
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN preferred
Experience
  • 2 years of nursing practice in a complex critical care environment
Licenses & Certifications
  • Current RN License in Ohio
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • PALS certification required within one year for roles supporting pediatric patients
  • NIHSS certification required
