Description
We are currently searching for a 5 day a week LPN who will work as an endoscopy LPN, as well as in pre-op and post-op Monday – Friday. Must be able to work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks. Major responsibilities include: participates in center safety and infection control programs, assists physicians with endoscopy procedures, handles and processes patient specimens, assists in maintenance of all supplies.
Monitors patient condition and vital signs and maintains accurate documentation. Reports any observed abnormalities to the Registered Nurse. Starts IV. Utilizes the nursing process to develop, plan, deliver, and execute patient’s plan of care during postoperative period. Assists the patient, if necessary, with dressing. Performs safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate post-operative/post-anesthesia period. Assesses and legibly documents the patient’s physical and emotional status upon arrival in the recovery room.
Develops a plan of care for the patient based on patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia. Monitors and reports any abnormal observed complications to the RN, Anesthesia provider, and physician, as appropriate.
Graduate of an accredited school of Practical nursing
- Current State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current BLS
- IV certification
