About This Role
The PRN Psychiatric Triage RN at Cleveland Clinic Akron General provides direct nursing care to psychiatric patients, supporting their recovery processes in a collaborative environment. This role is ideal for compassionate nurses who thrive in a dynamic and patient-centered setting.
Highlights- Location: Akron, OH
- Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
- Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
- Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, and serve as a patient advocate.
- Administer treatments and medication.
- Participate in the ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes and quality improvement processes.
- Delegate tasks/assignments and serve as a resource person.
- Complete psychiatric core curriculum and Managing Disruptive Behavior Training within six months of hire.
- Triage psychiatric patients that present to the ED and complete medical screening examination forms.
- Consult on managing disruptive behavior and restraint issues, assess patients for suicide and elopement risk.
- Education:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) required
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience:
- 5 years of nursing experience if assigned to ED Triage primarily
- 3 years of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
- Licenses &
Certifications:- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
