Staff Nurse - Behavioral Health Unit

Role Summary

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care grounded in biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centered care for individuals or groups, with a focus on safety and education across all ages. The role involves performing leadership and professional duties, supporting quality improvement and safety initiatives, and collaborating with provider staff to ensure efficient, high-quality care and excellent customer service.

The nurse may also mentor new staff, participate in evidence-based practices, and utilize informatics and technology tools.

• BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years of hire
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
• Valid Ohio RN license (Multistate license preferred)
• Minimum of one year healthcare experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
• Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (preferred)

• Provide comprehensive, family-centered nursing care
• Lead and mentor clinical staff, fostering teamwork
• Support quality improvement, safety, and evidence-based practices
• Utilize technology and informatics for patient care
• Participate in system-based practices and interdepartmental collaboration
• Perform duties across various hospital areas as needed
