Summary
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on family-centered approaches for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
They demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to address patients' physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
The role involves leadership, professional duties, patient-centered care, quality improvement, safety initiatives, staff education and mentorship, evidence-based practice, and system-based responsibilities.
They support interprofessional collaboration, utilize informatics and technology, and may be temporarily assigned to various areas based on patient needs.
- Strong leadership, guidance, and motivation skills to foster teamwork and quality service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to organizational levels.
- Healthcare experience preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) is required or preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or to be obtained within 5 years of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio required.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred; no supervisory experience required.
