American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Burn ICU position at a Magnet facility, requiring BSN, OH/compact license, and prior burn ICU experience.

• Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) of a hospital environment
• Care for adult and pediatric patients with burn injuries, including those with diabetes, cardiac, and psych comorbidities
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to competent units required during low census periods
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
• BSN required for consideration at this Magnet facility
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (TNCC preferred)
• Experience with vasopressor medications and sedation required
• Experience managing ventilated patients required
• Experience with arterial lines required
• Wound care experience required
• Burn care experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required

• Provide critical care nursing to burn ICU patients across adult and pediatric populations
• Support may be needed in surgical ICU settings
• Facility will consider prior employees to return as travelers, provided they are not currently active employees
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
