DescriptionThe Humane Society of Summit County is accepting applications for a full-time Veterinary Technician position. This person will provide support to Shelter and MABEL (mobile veterinary unit) Veterinarian and staff with a variety of duties and animal care tasks. The vet tech will apply his/her professional technical skills in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and laboratory testing, behavior assessment, patient nursing care and client education.

HoursFull-time hours
Weekend Availability is required. Holiday coverage will be necessary but will rotate through medical team.
Position Requirements To be considered for this position, you should have:- An Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology.
- An Ohio Veterinary Technician License.
- Ideally, at least 1 year of work experience in a related field.
- A valid Ohio driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Excellent organizational and relationship management skills.
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Attention to detail and self-motivation.
- Proficiency in using computers and office equipment.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Creativity, energy, and a self-starting attitude.
- Previous experience working with animals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with various animal breeds and behaviors.
- The ability to relate well to others.
- A positive and can-do attitude.
- Knowledge of animal breeds, behavior, and handling.
- Preferred:
Experience driving a large vehicle.
