Overview
The Project Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing the overall quality management of project(s). The Project Quality Lead will collaborate with B&W's project teams to ensure the effective implementation of B&W’s quality plans and procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring that B&W delivers quality products and services.
Responsibilities- Ensures B&W quality standards and project specifications are followed throughout the duration of the project.
- Collaborates with Cross-Functional Teams by working closely with B&W's project management, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to define clear quality objectives and ensure successful execution.
- Coordinates inspections with suppliers and/or customers, ensuring thorough documentation of quality activities, inspections, and testing results.
- Manages Non-Conformances and Corrective Actions and oversees the identification and resolution of non-conformance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of the quality management system, processes within offices/shops, and vendor relationships.
- Supports B&W certification audits, including those for ISO and ASME standards.
- Develops and maintains the project quality plan, including the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), ensuring alignment with project requirements and quality objectives.
- Must be able to read and interpret complex drawings.
- Must be able to read measuring tools (e.g., measuring tape, micrometer, calipers, and dial indicators).
- Confident independent decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding and fit up.
- Familiar with ASME, AWS, EN, and ISO codes.
- Ability to read, write, and understand contract language, contract drawings, and contract specifications.
- Organized and detail oriented; able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
- Positive presence and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to work in accordance with B&W customer and supplier schedules which may include weekends/after hours.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Manufacturing.
- Technical knowledge of industrial boilers and related balance of plant equipment.
