The CMM Programmer will create and update CMM Programs for part specific receiving inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections.

You will utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments to include but not limited to:
Comparators, vision systems, micrometers and functional gages. Effectively communicates with peers and interdepartmental personnel maintaining a cohesive team environment. Assists with other quality related functions upon supervisor or managerial request.

What You’ll Do:

Interpret engineering drawings and/or models to create and program coordinated measuring machine (CMM) for part measurement

Examine parts and/or drawings to formulate a measurement scheme if no datums are specified

Ensure materials and product are in within print specification

Create new part specific CMM programs

Update/Remediate existing part specific CMM programs

Measure parts by using appropriate tools (Optical Comparator, Micrometers, Calipers, etc.)Inspects product to ensure it meets both internal and external specifications as well as all regulatory requirements.

Record test data and create technical reports with defined templates (FAI, Capability Study, Gage R&R, etc.)Appropriately identify and segregate nonconforming product and initiate a nonconforming material report per internal NCMR procedures.

Initiate continuous improvement efforts within the metrology lab and create controlled lab procedures where needed

Provide help to production/quality associates as a technical expert on measurement style and technique

Confer with Quality Engineers or Management to interpret/determine customer/internal standards and offer suggestions for measurement style

Assist with programming of other inspection equipment at the site, including but not limited to Starrett Comparators, Smart Scope, Keyence, after a reasonable amount of training is provided by Avalign.

Act as CAPA Owner for Metrology related CAPAParticipate in Inspection plan and Gage Design discussions for New Product Introduction projects.

What You’ll Need:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints with a strong knowledge of GD&T, and inspection methods2+ years’ experience with CMM programming

An understanding of quality standards (ISO-13485) & regulatory requirements (21

CFR
820) is preferred.

Possess effective communication skills and interacts in a professional courteous manner with all co-workers
