Quanex is looking for a Research Chemist II to join our team located in Akron, Ohio
.
This position will work with a team to develop and commercialize new products and improve existing products and processes.

- Formulate new products for existing business or new opportunities
- Conduct assigned research projects
- Search literature, patents and survey in-house expertise for technical solutions and options
- Collect and summarise data and write summary reports
- Able to present detailed results of work in an organized manner to teams and internal groups
- Understand customer/product requirements and apply understanding to tasks/projects
- Proficient in basic laboratory experimental methods
- Familiar with Basic Experimental Design and analysis of results
- Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Macro-Molecular Science or related field of study.
- 2 - 6 years of experience in product development or improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for recording, organizing and graphical analysis of data
- Familiar with word processor, email, and PowerPoint type software
The salary range for this position is $69,900 to $87,000 with bonus potential.
