Position: Culinary Inventory Specialist - Full Time

General Summary

An Inventory Specialist will receive products, break down and organize loads, audit inventory, keep the back of house organized and support all-replenishment processes and tasks at the store level. In particular, the Inventory Specialist will be responsible for all functions associated with incoming product at the store including inspecting, temping, counting and verifying weights of incoming product deliveries and responsible for the support and communication of the Predictix/INFOR system.

The Inventory Specialist is the primary gatekeeper for invoice processing for the store and are key players in ensuring all back of house activities are happening in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner. Follow all 365 by Whole Foods Market guidelines.
  • Perform all product receiving functions per established Global and Regional receiving programs; breaking down/organizing loads, inspection, counting, temping, verifying weights and data entry by using IRMA, Store Ops and Predictix/INFOR. Maintain all applicable receiving logs.
  • Follow all HAACP receiving procedures and 365 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately receive all ordered products by verifying Purchase Order, Invoice, and amount match. Ensure all products being delivered are products ordered, authorized, and met Food Safety quality standards.
  • Track open POs and Accruals, obtain pending invoices on received orders. Run daily reports and communicate PO deletion needs to the Team Leader.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and organization of the receiving area and entire back of house.
  • Accurately record product transfers and shrink.
  • Ensure back of house areas are organized and ready for fiscal period and quarter end inventories.
  • Responsible for daily negative on hand and out of stock counts in Predictix/INFOR and completing scheduled cycle counts within Predictix/INFOR.
  • Order and maintain adequate inventory of packaging and store supplies.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to the team including leadership.
  • Continual communication and support of the Predictix/INFOR system, including keeping the CRAVE team and Store Leadership informed.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative and productive working relationship with Store Leadership, fellow Team Members, support partners, customers and vendors.
  • Use courteous and proper phone etiquette when answering the phones and pages.
  • Stay informed on all company and store level information and communications from Crave 365, regional and store leadership.
  • Model 365 by Whole Foods Market vision and goals.
  • Keep all receiving areas secure during receiving hours.
  • Maintain baler, compactor and all environmental areas in proper working order.
  • Effectively and safely use baler, compactor, electric pallet jacks, other heavy machinery and train other team members on proper usage.
  • Follow established food safety, organics, and cleaning and maintenance guidelines and procedures. Resolve all hazards or violations immediately.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory rules and standards, including OSHA, Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Work a variety of shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Attend all meetings as assigned by Leadership.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Team Member, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.

Essential Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a receiver, backup receiver, a buying/purchasing role or equivalent. Prior retail experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer and accounting skills, with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and use business systems such as IRMA, Predictix/INFOR and People Soft on a regular basis.
