HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex Armed Security Officers in the Akron, Ohio area to work as needed/on‑call. These positions offer a pay rate of $30/ hour, with weekly pay. Candidates must be willing to work in all weather conditions and be able to work alone during the day or didates must be capable of standing and/or walking for long periods of time and distance.

• Must have OPOTA (Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy) 20‑Hour Firearm Certification.
• 2 years of security experience.
• 2 years of armed security experience.
• 2 years of customer service experience (preferred).
• Willingness to requalify at the gun range.
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work day and evening shifts, with short notice.
• Ability to pass drug screening, background checks, and psychological testing.
• Adherence to professional grooming standards.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time.

The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

The Scheduling Parameters And Expectations For a Flex Officer Are Different From Those Of An Employee Assigned To a Fixed Post. As a Flex Officer you will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.

• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
