Glazier

We are seeking a skilled Glazier Technician to join our team in Akron. As a Glazier Technician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass and related materials in a variety of settings such as residential and commercial buildings, automobiles, and furniture. You will also be responsible for cutting, shaping, and fitting glass to specifications using hand tools or machines.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Glazier or similar role
• Proficiency in measuring and cutting glass to specific dimensions
• Familiarity with various types of glass and their uses
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or specifications
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Good communication skills in English

• Install, repair, or replace glass in windows, doors, skylights, shower enclosures, etc.
• Cut glass to specific dimensions using hand tools or machines
• Remove old or broken glass and prepare surfaces for installation
• Measure openings and create templates if necessary
• Install weatherstripping or other sealants around edges of glass panels
• Secure panes into frames using putty, rubber gaskets, caulking, or screws
• Repair or replace damaged frames or moldings before installing new glass
• Ensure all work meets safety regulations and building codes
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations based on expertise
• Clean up work area after completing jobs
