Crane operator

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in Akron. As a Crane Operator you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move and position heavy materials and equipment on construction sites. This is a contract job with the potential for long‑term employment based on performance.

• Operate cranes according to job site safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any defects or malfunctions.
• Communicate with ground crew using hand signals or two‑way radio.
• Lift, move and position heavy materials using various types of cranes such as tower cranes, mobile cranes and overhead cranes.
• Ensure proper rigging techniques are used for each lift.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations and complete necessary paperwork.

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating cranes in construction or industrial settings.
• Valid crane operator certification from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of safe crane operation practices and rigging techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and lift plans.
• Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions.
