Carpenter - Oriana House (Facilities)
Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a skilled Carpenter to support facility maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction projects at Oriana House locations throughout the Akron, Ohio market. This is a hands-on skilled trades position for an experienced carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and maintaining safe, functional facilities. You will perform a wide range of commercial carpentry and building maintenance work across occupied facilities and operational environments.
The ideal candidate has experience in commercial carpentry, facilities maintenance, remodeling, institutional construction, or property maintenance and is comfortable working independently while supporting a larger facilities operations team. This is not residential new construction. This role focuses on maintaining and improving active facilities through repairs, renovations, preventative maintenance, and ongoing building improvements. Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $27.75 to $32.24. Aramark offers comprehensive benefit programs and services for eligible employees including medical, dental, vision, and work/life resources. What You'll Do:
- Perform rough and finish carpentry work
- Repair doors, frames, walls, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures
- Install drywall, trim, cabinetry, shelving, and hardware
- Complete painting, patching, framing, and general building repairs
- Support remodeling and renovation projects
- Read blueprints, sketches, and maintenance work orders
- Repair and install commercial building materials and finishes
- Operate hand tools, power tools, saws, drills, and construction equipment safely
- Assist with preventative maintenance and facility improvement projects
- Identify structural or safety concerns and recommend corrective action
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support emergency repair needs when required
Work Environment:
- Commercial and institutional facilities
- Active facilities operations environment
- Indoor work with occasional outdoor responsibilities
- Physically active position involving lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, and movement throughout facilities
- Multi-site support within the Akron market
Preferred Experience:
- Candidates with backgrounds in commercial carpentry, facilities maintenance, institutional maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, school or hospital maintenance, drywall and finish carpentry, construction trades, apartment maintenance, industrial maintenance, general contracting, remodeling and renovation work are strongly encouraged to apply.
Work
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Carpenter, Maintenance Carpenter, Facilities Carpenter, Remodel Technician, or Construction Maintenance Technician required
- Experience with commercial carpentry and general building repairs
- Strong knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, and tools
- Ability to read measurements, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Experience operating hand and power tools safely
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and professional communication skills
- Valid driver's license may be required
