General Overview
An employee in this class is responsible for performing a wide variety of skills and semi‑skilled construction maintenance, repair, remodeling, and alteration tasks in buildings, structures, and on equipment. Assignments are usually so varied that several skills are used in carrying out work. Works under general supervision exercising considerable independent judgment in determining work methods and materials to be used. Performs other related duties as required.
Required QualificationsAny combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below. Graduation from an accredited high school or trade school and a minimum of four (4) years experience in general building maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Must have a valid State of Ohio Commercial Drivers License.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of the methods, tools, and materials used in building construction and repair work, and occupational hazards and safety precautions thereof. Ability to use the tools and equipment necessary to perform various skills; interpret and work from sketches and penciled layouts; read and write. (

- Perform rough carpentry, hang doors, and repair roofs.
- Repair pumps and maintain heating and cooling systems including controls, valves, and traps.
- Repair toilets, faucets, and washbasins and cut and thread pipes.
- Perform minor wiring and maintain light fixtures, switches, and outlets.
- Do plastering, painting, place concrete, and perform minor masonry repair and maintenance work.
- Install and repair sewer grates and flap gates.
- Repair and replace windows, repair office furniture, hang drapery rods, and replace floor tile.
- Complete daily log and report of work accomplished and materials used.
- Perform related work as required.

Pre‑employment drug testing and driving record check required. Must possess a valid State of Ohio Class B Commercial Drivers License, required within 6 months of employment, and can be obtained through our in‑house training program.
