Great Lakes Freightliner/Western Star is looking for experienced diesel technicians/mechanics to join our team.

We offer 3 Day Time shift options - No Holidays or Weekends

Job Responsibilities / Requirements
· Diesel experience a must, dealership experience not required
· Accurate diagnostics of Mechanical, Electrical and Drivability concerns
· Work closely with service management team
· Customer focus with friendly attitude
· Basic computer skills
· Effective time management

Job Purpose:

- The Diesel Technician at VALLEY FORD TRUCKS- MASTER is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on diesel-powered vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role is vital in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, systems, and components, including fuel, brakes, steering, suspension, and transmission systems.

Conduct regular maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and system inspections to prevent potential issues.

Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical problems and implement effective solutions.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about vehicle issues and repair timelines.

Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations..Compensation and Benefits

Required

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in diesel technology or a related field is preferred.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.

Proven track record of diagnosing and repairing complex diesel engine issues.

Experience with electronic diagnostic equipment and software for diesel engines.

Required

Skills and Abilities:

Strong mechanical aptitude and in-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot engine problems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and explain technical issues to customers.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
