Electrician I

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrician I for a direct hire opportunity supporting our client onsite in Akron, Ohio. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems, equipment, and facility infrastructure in a complex commercial and industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting electrical distribution systems, motor controls, lighting systems, and facility maintenance operations while maintaining a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday - 2nd shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair facility electrical distribution systems, equipment, and controls.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and lighting systems.
  • Install power supply wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machinery and building equipment.
  • Maintain electrical distribution systems operating in 480/277 VAC, 120/208 VAC, and 120/240 VAC environments.
  • Support electrical infrastructure for data center and computer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical and electronic components, including relays, switches, motors, sensors, and printed circuit boards.
  • Maintain building lighting systems, emergency lighting, parking lot lighting, outlets, photoelectric controls, and energy management-controlled lighting systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems, utilities, and equipment.
  • Estimate, coordinate, and schedule electrical maintenance and construction projects.
  • Utilize National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, company standards, and safety regulations to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, service documentation, and maintenance records.
  • Manage inventory of tools, materials, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician status or completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical maintenance, industrial, commercial, or facilities electrical experience.
  • Experience working with: electrical distribution systems, motor controls, MCC panels and circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics, building lighting systems, electrical preventive maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency utilizing voltmeters, amp meters, ohm meters, megohm meters (Meggers), and amp probes.
  • Ability to interpret electrical readings and troubleshoot system performance issues.
  • Strong understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety practices.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturing or large commercial facilities.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, voice/data systems, and automated controls.
  • Forklift and aerial lift certifications.
  • Experience supporting critical infrastructure and data center electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with facility maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Ability to work in varying indoor facility conditions.
