The Field Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Akron, OH. This position is responsible for traveling to customer locations to install, maintain, and repair commercial food equipment, including diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and replacing necessary parts. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with customers about service needs and timelines.
The technician will follow safety procedures, coordinate with the service team for scheduling and parts ordering, and ensure that all work meets company and industry standards. This role requires a customer-focused approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in the field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience servicing or repairing commercial, industrial, or similar equipment.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including reading schematics and safely working with wiring and components.
- Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic tools, and test equipment effectively and safely.
- Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Reliable time management skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for traveling to customer sites.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics, HVAC, or related fields is a plus.
- Prior experience in commercial food equipment service, appliance repair, or similar service roles is preferred.
