Diesel Mechanic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnoses failures and makes repairs on mechanical, electrical, or other various systems on a vehicle.
• May discuss the nature of the difficulty with the driver(s).
• Uses hydraulic jacks or hoist, to gain access to the underside of the unit and to aid in the removal or replacement of assemblies such as Brakes, wheel seals, axle assemblies, roof bows, roof and side wall patches, air springs, etc.
• Uses electronic diagnostic tools and computer software to assist in the troubleshooting and repair of heavy-duty ABS systems, self-inflating tire systems, trailer Sky Bitz locating system
• Welding and minor fabrication skills are preferred.

There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

High School or better.

ASE electrical, Air Brake System. Experience with repair of Wabco/Meritor/Bendix antilock brake systems. Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
