Applies specialized knowledge of human development behaviors, and social, economic and cultural systems to directly assist individuals, families and groups in assigned areas, improving or restoring their capacity for social functioning through counseling and psychosocial interventions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
• Current Ohio LSW license

• Minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience

• Ability to work well in a team environment, supporting team goals, encouraging members, and being self‑directed in executing responsibilities while providing or receiving direction.
• Understanding and carrying out the vision of patient care at Summa.
• Initiative to contribute beyond the scope of formal duties, including innovative ideas and constructive feedback.
• Flexibility and adaptability in an environment of rapidly changing reimbursement and managed‑care targets.
• Effective verbal and written communication while maintaining customer confidentiality.
• Calm, effective reaction in emergency situations and ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
• Objectivity toward patients/family units, department, hospital, and community.
• Teaching and reinforcing home‑going instruction regarding disease processes.
• Working knowledge of the case‑management process.
• Competency in interacting with specific populations, respecting their dignity and self‑respect.

While primarily sedentary, the position may require exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount regularly.

The salary range on this job posting is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographic location, are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
