  • Communicates relevant resident recovery needs or challenges (e.g., difficulty managing medications, concern about peer influence) to clinical team and supervisors via shift reports or direct communication.
Essential Functions
  • Orients new residents to recovery housing expectations and available resources, using motivational and strengths-based approaches.
  • Recognizes signs of relapse risk or decompensation and reports concerns promptly to clinical or supervisory staff, using appropriate documentation protocols.

  • Builds rapport with residents in a supportive, non-authoritative manner that aligns with recovery housing values while maintaining clear boundaries and consistent expectations.
  • Communicates relevant resident recovery needs or challenges (e.g., difficulty managing medications, concern about peer influence) to clinical team and supervisors via shift reports or direct communication.
Operational Duties Resident Support and Oversight
  • Ensures residents have office access during designated hours; opens and closes the office as required.
  • Monitors resident behavior for adherence to the Code of Conduct and intervenes to ensure safety when necessary.
  • Conducts and documents resident whereabouts checks at least twice per shift, including overnight checks at random intervals.
  • Maintains an active presence in common areas to support residents and identify unsafe conditions or cleanliness issues.
  • Stays with residents during medical or mental health emergencies when needed or directed.
Facility and Security Protocols
  • Performs perimeter door checks at the start and end of each shift and documents results.
  • Monitors and documents at least one hour of security camera footage per shift using the preview sheet; reports any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Keeps the main office and shared areas clean, including routine refrigerator cleaning and stocking the UDS bathroom.
  • Stays awake and alert throughout the shift to ensure safety and responsiveness to staff and resident needs.
Policy Adherence and Emergency Procedures
  • Enforces all Agency and program policies consistently and stays informed of updates.
  • Follows emergency protocols for fire, tornado, and other drills; documents participation and outcomes.
  • Notifies supervisors immediately of incidents involving law enforcement, EMS, or fire departments.
  • Executes all emergency procedures including key control, AWOL protocols, and contraband management.
Documentation and Communication
  • Reads, initials, and dates all shift reports within the first hour of shift. Begins and completes accurate shift reports and files appropriately.
  • Updates and prints essential documents daily or as needed: apartment rosters, urine drug screen lists (including intakes and discharges), urine drug screen tracker, alco logs (prints weekly), and sign in/out logs.
  • Files and scans documentation (program sheets, shift huddles, UDS sheets, and discharge paperwork) in Care Logic or ORION and stores in designated areas.
  • Copies and prepares frequently used forms and checklists (e.g., personal responsibilities, attendance, wellness plans).
  • Communicates essential information to incoming staff during shift handoff.
Testing, Searches, and Property Management
  • Conducts and accurately records alcohol testing and urine drug screens per Agency policy. Ensures results are logged in ORION accurately and uploaded to Care Logic as required.
