Senior Java Engineer

Description

The Senior Java Engineer will be a key member of a small, high-impact engineering team tasked with architecting and developing the next generation of the Consolidus platform. Working alongside our current Senior and Associate Engineers
, this individual will learn the legacy Cold Fusion-based system, contribute to defining the new architecture, and help implement a modern, cloud-native solution hosted on Microsoft Azure.

This is a hands‑on engineering role that combines architectural input, collaboration, and development execution. The ideal candidate will bring deep Java experience, a pragmatic understanding of scalable systems, and a desire to work in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and teamwork are central to success.

We value engineers who use AI as a force multiplier—leveraging tools such as Git Hub Copilot and ChatGPT/Cursor to accelerate development, testing, and documentation—while maintaining secure, responsible practices and ownership of results.

• Collaborate within a small engineering team to architect, design, and implement a modern, modular refactor of the legacy Cold Fusion platform.
• Partner closely with existing engineers to understand current workflows, database structures, and application dependencies

• Design and implement cloud‑native microservices on Azure, including containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Build and maintain integrations with third‑party systems using SOAP, RESTful APIs, cXML, and related standards.
• Contribute to SSO and authentication frameworks
  , as well as architecture discussions and code reviews to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Mentor and collaborate with teammates
  , fostering continuous learning while staying current with emerging technologies, AI‑assisted development, and secure engineering practices.

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong foundation in Java.
• Full Stack developers with knowledge across all aspects of an eCommerce platform.
• Knowledge of Backend/Frontend, database, server architecture, security, and common web frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud architecture (Azure preferred) including services such as Azure Functions, App Services, AKS or similar. And strong knowledge of containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (Git).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to bridge technical and business perspectives. Along with a proven track record of technical leadership (mentoring, guiding, and influencing).

• Familiarity with Cold Fusion (legacy).
• Experience with Vue, Angular or React.
• Experience in eProcurement, ERP, or similar enterprise system integrations.
• Experience refactoring complex legacy platforms.
