Position focus

We’re looking for experienced, professional drivers who will share our commitment to our people, partners, and planet. Traveling to locations on your assigned route, you will be responsible for packing, transporting, and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures.

This position is physically demanding and requires a driven approach with the ability to perform timely completion of assigned tasks and to adapt to a high-demand work environment with a customer service mindset.

We at Clean Earth sell compliance; in doing so, we must maintain compliance with all governing regulatory agencies, including DOT, EPA, OSHA, and local regulatory entities. This means we are looking for those who can maintain a high level of training and awareness related to your job duties and a desire to learn and grow professionally.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests and work orders while adhering to the assigned route.
  • Classify, segregate, and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment. Conduct lab pack operations. Pack small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
  • Perform various regulatory training, compliance, and safety tasks, including but not limited to: pre-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting losses, spills, accidents, leaking containers, waste diversion, and safety violations to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain professional contact with customers daily in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers. Interact with various levels of personnel.
  • Overnights required.
  • Provide services related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal from customer sites.
  • Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading, and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment according to state, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Perform warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials. Load, unload, move, or store items according to documents or supervisor instructions, and perform general housekeeping.
  • Adhere to the assigned route via the electronic routing system, with any deviations escalated to management.
  • Operate a hand truck, drum dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
  • Maintain the basic functionality and cleanliness of the assigned company vehicle and equipment.
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Basic

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CDL Class

    B.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform and maintain all assigned training related to essential functions.
  • Maintains a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental, regulatory, and DOT rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of how to use and troubleshoot computer software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read a map.
  • DOT HAZMAT Endorsement.
  • Driver E-Log experience.
