Mobile Battery Technician - 1st Shift

Overview

AAA is hiring Roadside Assistance Mobile Battery Technicians in Akron, OH. Responsibilities include providing lock‑out, fuel delivery, battery installation/removal, jump‑starting, tire change, tow and recovery services, and battery warranty services. The role involves operating a service vehicle, interacting with members, and maintaining equipment.

• Provide lock‑out, fuel delivery, battery installation/removal, battery jump starts and tire change services using established guidelines and quality control procedures.
• Provide tow and recovery services as a Tow Truck Driver.
• Sell, install, test and perform battery warranty services as a Mobile Battery Technician.
• Communicate with members effectively to keep them informed and ensure safety.
• Enter call information accurately, process payments, handle cash and complete reports.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections and ensure safe operating condition.
• Secure fleet vehicle and equipment at all times.
• Participate in special events to promote AAA.

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license for the state of residence and meet all state/local licensing requirements.
• Ability to pass a physical examination as required by Department of Transportation or company policy.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment (including technical school) or sales/customer service role is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75lb and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling and pushing vehicles.
• Successful completion of pre‑ and post‑employment background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle screening.
• Operate passenger vehicles and light‑medium duty trucks (manual and automatic) from a service vehicle.
• Excellent communication skills in writing, verbally and via email/GPS.
• Complete required departmental training within 60days of hire and subsequent training as needed.
