Responsibilities
- Oversee daily monitoring and processing of corporate actions across domestic, regional and international markets for equities, mutual funds, fixed income, hedge funds, structured funds and ETFs, ensuring high‑quality client service.
- Handle moderately intricate to extremely complex corporate action events, including receipt of market/sub‑custodian announcements, data scrubbing/comparison, and notification of events to clients.
- Reconcile client positions with sub‑custodians and markets, and monitor accurate posting of accruals and entitlements.
- Solicit and receive client responses for voluntary events and submit instructions to sub‑custodians, agents or processing banks before deadlines.
- Maintain communication with clients, counter‑parties, markets, sub‑custodians, regulators, issuers, brokers and other stakeholders to support the corporate actions process.
- Adhere to established quality‑control measures and procedures and provide first‑level training to new specialists.
- Participate in projects and system upgrades (e.g., corporate actions processing enhancements, off‑hour testing, new client SLAs, new product functions).
- Support corporate actions related to new clients, SLA/SLD agreements, regulatory changes, and best‑practice monitoring of custody offerings.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external entities to reengineer processes for client delivery excellence and reduce manual activities.
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, SOPs and instructions to ensure consistent work practices.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction and system, process or practice sustainability.
- Prepare timely and accurate statements and reports for departmental requirements and quality standards.
- Validate and reconcile all transactions (FX, Cash, Securities, Corporate Actions, Tax Reclaims) and ensure accurate settlement and accounting entries.
- Escalate discrepancies, settlement issues or control breaches to the AVP and Middle Office as required.
- Support SWIFT instruction validation and second‑level reconciliation activities.
- Provide ad‑hoc support to the AVP for business‑as‑usual matters and initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs, KRIs and capacity planning; report incidents and issues to the AVP for review.
- University graduate or bachelor’s degree (or 5 years related work experience).
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in security services and/or back‑office operations (e.g., corporate actions, securities settlements).
- Solid understanding of security services, operations and accounting activity related to securities.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team‑oriented mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong execution skills and follow‑up effectiveness in a multi‑tasking environment.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and self‑starter attitude.
- Experience in Securities related functions such as Client Services, Corporate Actions, Settlement, Data Maintenance & Billing or Custody Account Opening is an added advantage.
