SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Female Cook to join a private family household in Al Ain, UAE, with a focus on delivering nutritious, culturally authentic meals in a warm, home-like environment. This role is ideal for an Ethiopian or Ugandan national who takes pride in culinary craftsmanship, adheres to strict food safety and hygiene standards, and thrives in a family-oriented, personalized kitchen setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing daily meals, managing kitchen inventory, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace. This position offers a full package including accommodation, visa sponsorship, medical insurance, and meals—ensuring a stable and supportive living and working environment. - Prepare daily meals for the family in accordance with dietary preferences, cultural traditions, and nutritional guidelines.
- Follow and enforce all food safety standards, health and safety regulations, and hygiene practices in the kitchen.
- Source, store, and manage kitchen ingredients and supplies efficiently, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen environment in compliance with local health and safety codes.
- Assist in meal planning and preparation based on family needs and seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Train and adapt to new recipes and cooking techniques as required by the family.
- Handle food storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO) to ensure food safety and reduce spoilage.
- Communicate effectively with the family to understand preferences, allergies, and special requests.
- Participate in routine kitchen inspections and maintain records of food handling and safety compliance.
- Uphold professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions within the household.
- Ethiopian or Ugandan nationality (mandatory).
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a cook, preferably in private household or domestic settings.
- Strong knowledge and consistent application of food safety standards, food safety practices, and health and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to prepare authentic Ethiopian and Ugandan cuisine, with adaptability to other regional dishes.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage meal preparation efficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality.
- Willingness to undergo on-the-job training for new recipes, kitchen tools, or family-specific dietary requirements.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) or Arabic (preferred) for effective communication.
- Valid work permit and ability to obtain UAE residence visa (sponsorship provided).
- Must be able to live on-site and commit to a full-time, dedicated household role.
