Position: Carpentry Supervisor at Apres Restaurant LLC

Job Summary

The Carpentry Supervisor oversees and coordinates carpentry crews on construction sites in the UAE, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with UAE Federal Decree‑Law No. 33 of 2021 (Labour Law), MOHRE regulations, and relevant municipality/civil defense building codes (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi DMT, Trakhees, or local authority equivalent).

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, assign, and supervise daily tasks for carpentry crews, including framing, formwork, finishing, and joinery/installation work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with UAE building codes and approved authority drawings (DM, ADM, DCD, Trakhees, etc.).
  • Ensure all work meets local municipality regulations,
    UAE Fire and Life Safety Code
    , and project‑specific QA/QC standards.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate carpenters and apprentices; support skills development in line with company HR and Emiratisation initiatives where applicable.
  • Monitor material usage, coordinate procurement, and manage site inventory to avoid project delays.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, HSE Officer, and other trade supervisors to align schedules.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks; prepare snag lists and ensure timely closure.
  • Enforce HSE procedures in line with UAE OSHAD (Abu Dhabi) / Dubai Municipality HSE Code of Practice
    , and ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Ensure crew compliance with UAE Labour Law provisions, including working hours (max 8hrs/day or 48hrs/week), overtime rules, and the mandatory Midday Break Ban (typically 12:30PM–3:00PM, June–September) for outdoor work.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor hours (for WPS/payroll), materials, and daily progress reports.
  • Ensure all crew members hold valid labor cards, work permits, and required trade certifications.
  • Manage tool and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Liaise with HR/PRO teams on visa, labor card renewals, and EmiratesID compliance for crew members.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or recognized apprenticeship completion preferred.
  • 5+ years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (GCC/UAE site experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials suited to UAE climate conditions.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, BOQs, and shop drawings.
  • Working knowledge of UAE Labour Law
    , MOHRE regulations, and local municipality building/safety codes.
  • Valid UAE driving license preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in high‑temperature/humidity site conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, Aconex, etc.).
  • OSHA
    30 or equivalent recognized HSE certification (NEBOSHIGC is well regarded in UAE).
  • Prior experience on UAE/GCC mega‑projects or with RERA/Estidama (Pearl Rating)‑compliant developments.
  • Arabic and English language skills, useful for multinational crew management.
