As a Camp Officer you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well‑being, and enjoyment of all employees. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and coordinating activities to create a positive camp experience.
Responsibilities Program Management- Oversee and manage Snoonu camp and support staff.
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily employee activities and special events.
- Ensure activities are age‑appropriate, safe, and engaging for all employees.
- Provide guidance and support to employees, promoting a positive camp culture.
- Monitor employee behaviour and intervene when necessary to ensure a positive environment.
- Enforce camp policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all Ministry regulations.
- Conduct regular safety checks of the camp premises and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, attendance, and any other relevant documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR Operations, addressing concerns and providing updates.
- Communicate effectively with HR Operations and the Accommodation Supervisor.
- Prepare and distribute schedules, newsletters, and other informational materials.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of camp facilities and equipment.
- Manage inventory of camp supplies, ensuring adequate materials are available.
- Handle administrative tasks such as employee check‑ins and check‑outs, evaluations, and reports.
- Organize rooms and bedding for new arrivals.
- Coordinate with Operations for assigning pick‑up and drop‑off for new arrivals.
- A diploma or bachelor's degree in hospitality management, recreation, physical education, social work, environmental science, or a related field.
- Prior experience in camp management, event planning, outdoor activities, or youth programs is preferred.
- Leadership experience in a similar setting is an advantage.
- Leadership and management – Ability to oversee camp activities, staff, and operations efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with campers and staff.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making – Quick thinking and effective decision‑making in emergencies.
- Organizational skills – Managing schedules, resources, and event planning effectively.
- Interpersonal skills – Building strong relationships with staff, campers, and external stakeholders.
- Conflict resolution – Handling disputes among campers or staff professionally.
- Adaptability and resilience – Working in different environments and handling unpredictable situations.
- Basic administrative and financial management – Budgeting, record‑keeping, and reporting.
- Teamwork and collaboration – Ability to work with diverse groups and create a positive camp environment.
