Librarian Indian Community Library in Al-Rayyan

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to manage our Indian Community Library in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. This is a part-time position with a salary of 1800$. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and promoting reading within the Indian community. This is an urgent need and we are looking for someone who can start immediately.

• Manage the daily operations of the library including organizing and maintaining books, ensuring proper cataloging and shelving systems are in place
• Promote library services and resources to members of the Indian community
• Plan and implement programs and events to encourage reading, learning, and cultural exchange
• Assist library users with finding materials, using technology, and answering reference questions
• Collaborate with other librarians and community organizations to enhance library services
• Keep up-to-date with current trends in literature and technology to improve library offerings
• Train and supervise volunteers who may assist with daily tasks or programs
• Maintain accurate records of circulation statistics, budget expenditures, and inventory levels

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
• Knowledge of current library practices, technologies, and resources
• Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse members of the Indian community
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Fluency in English is preferred but not required
