Accounting Position
This position involves professional accounting work of a moderately complex nature. This position is part of the Alabama A&M University Foundation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Process and upload all payments for the AAMU Foundation
· Upload all positive pay files
· Process all payables and receivables for the AAMU Foundation Plaza
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the financial accounts at financial institutions
· Process wire transfers
· Pick up and distribute AAMU Foundation mail
· Prepare journal entries
· Process payment cancellation requests
· Review and resolve uncashed checks on a weekly basis
· Manage the virtual credit card payment system
· Perform other duties as assigned
MinimumPosition Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related field)
· At least six months of experience with Microsoft Excel at an advanced level
· Must be available for periodic evening and weekend work
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities· Knowledge of systems of internal controls
· Strong analytical and organization skills
· Strong comprehension skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proficient in basic accounting principles
· Must be detail-oriented
