Accounts Payable Specialist

As an Accounts Payable Specialist you will support daily invoice processing, vendor communication, and accurate accounting records. The role requires strong follow‑up skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a team.
Responsibilities- Match and enter all PO invoices from inventory and non‑inventory vendors; research and resolve quantity and price variances.
- Use the Accounts Payable workflow tool (ExFlow) in D365 to manage invoice approval and integrate with the company’s ERP system.
- Ensure accurate entry and timely payments of vendor invoices; maintain accurate records and control reports; review daily postings for accuracy.
- Process and/or review invoices for accurate account classifications; match original invoices with purchase orders or check requests; verify receipt of goods or services; resolve discrepancies and appropriate use tax.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external parties, documenting actions taken for audit trails.
- Perform month‑end close duties, including recording accrued liabilities for invoices not yet received and preparing AP accruals.
- Monitor and analyze specific accounts payable operations; design and revise forms, tools, and procedures to improve efficiency; perform special projects as needed.
On‑site role at the Chem Treat facility in Glen Allen, VA.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, Day Shift. Overtime or Weekends may be required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Business‑related Bachelor’s degree required OR a minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and management principles and Accounts Payable procedures.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze large amounts of spreadsheet data and formulas.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to ethical behavior and adherence to company policies and financial legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Exceptional time‑management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work closely within a team structure.
Compensation range: $25 – $27 USD per hour.
