Field Clerk– Job Description Department:
Operations
Status:- Hourly (Non-Exempt)/At-Will
- Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
- Cottondale, AL
- Project Manager
The Field Clerk will assist the Project Manager by providing administrative support to the office staff on the project. This role will submit and update/maintain online resource systems, onsite physical records, and onsite data storage location. The chosen candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills, be comfortable in a small office atmosphere, be capable of multitasking, be detail oriented, and be a self‑starter who can work with little or no supervision, as well as take direction and follow through with assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:- Creating and updating documents and reports, file documents, data entry, prepare minutes, etc.
- Printing and reproduction duties including copying, folding, binding, stuffing, hole punching, scanning, etc.
- Maintaining drill logs.
- Answer phone calls in a professionally polite manner.
- Operating office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, scanners, and binding machines.
- Communicate with field personnel, clients and subcontractors.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with personnel.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast‑paced environment and stay organized.
- Proficient with using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Will regularly be required to stand, walk and sit.
- Will regularly be required to lift, raise or lower objects from one level to another. Must be able to move or carry objects or materials, will regularly be required to manually transport objects from one place to another.
- Will regularly be required to reach with hands and arms.
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of office machines and equipment such as telephones, computers, calculator’s copiers, printers, etc. and have sufficient manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Frequently use the keyboard to input information into computer. Frequent use of telephone.
- Must have eye/hand/foot coordination, finger dexterity and be able to handle/grip/squeeze and perform repetitive activity.
- Must be capable of transferring‑vertical/horizontal, lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds, and be able to push/pull, stoop/bend, and kneel.
- Must be capable of walking up and down stairs between buildings.
Certifications:
N/A
Education:High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience as a Field Clerk or Document Control experience preferred.
- E xperience in an office administration environment and familiarity with general office administration procedures.
- Project based.
- Limited travel, if any.
