Function independently as a decision-maker on labeling regulatory issues and ensure that deadlines are met.
Maintain contacts and cooperate with industry associations and key government agencies such as SENASICA, COFEPRIS, etc. to ensure compliance with audit and certification requirements.
Review and approve all new and revised artwork for technical and grammatical accuracy to ensure compliance with local and international regulations. Perform a risk assessment evaluation on product and labeling compliance once hired and implement changes as needed.
Communicate with customers and the internal partners to ensure that all label changes are accurately incorporated in final artwork.
Review acceptability and regulatory status of new and revised product development formulas to ensure market compliance.
Develop accurate nutrition facts panels and ingredient statements utilizing PLM software.
Stay abreast of local and international regulations by understanding the existing and emerging regulations related to formulations and packaging.
Communicate non-compliances to the leadership and suggest corrective actions.
Provide the company with export regulatory direction for both internal and external customers including researching and analyzing information to develop and implement effective compliance policies and procedures. Serve as a channel for resolution on compliance issues.
Research and analyze government rules and regulations and related to supporting documentation and ensure company compliance. Responsible for ensuring company has the most up-to-date documentation to support country requirements.
Coordinate supporting materials to assist on annual Certifications and claims from customers or authorities.
Complete all plant and product registrations based on country requirements.
Prepare and maintain manuals that outline the requirements for Company compliance to those who directly engage in import and export activities.

Key Ingredients:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field
- 3-5 experience in labeling, food regulatory affairs, or export compliance required, food industry experience preferred.
- Spanish and English fluency required
- Experience working in the international segment and understanding of country laws, requirements, and application in product exports
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, & Power Point
- Proficiency in Optiva PLM or similar system
- Ability to accurately read and interpret regulations (local, state, federal, international)
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
- Attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility with changing priorities
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills of complex situations
- Strong sense of urgency
