We are seeking an experienced Lift Director / Project Manager to oversee and coordinate all critical lifting and rigging operations on a $5 billion steel plant in Alabama.
This role is responsible for planning, directing, and ensuring the safe execution of crane and heavy lift activities in compliance with site safety standards, engineered lift plans, and company procedures.
Pay $75/hr - $100/hr+, depending on experience, plus $115/day per diem!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and review lift plans for critical and complex crane operations
- Coordinate crane activities with project management, field supervision, and subcontractors
- Ensure all lifting operations comply with OSHA, site, and company safety requirements
- Conduct pre-lift meetings and hazard assessments
- Verify crane capacities, rigging configurations, and load calculations
- Monitor lift operations to ensure safe execution and proper communication among crews
- Inspect lifting equipment, rigging gear, and crane documentation
- Stop work when unsafe conditions or practices are identified
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience overseeing heavy lift or crane operations in industrial or construction environments
- Strong knowledge of rigging practices, crane operations, and lift planning
- Ability to read engineered lift drawings and load charts
- OSHA certification preferred
- NCCCO Lift Director certification required
