Role Description

The Modular Interior Designer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in New Market, AL. In this position, you will design modular interior layouts for residential or commercial spaces, including kitchens, wardrobes, workstations, and storage units, ensuring functional, aesthetically aligned, and cost‑effective solutions. You will collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to understand client requirements, develop design concepts, prepare detailed 2D/3D drawings, and refine proposals based on feedback.

Daily tasks include selecting materials and finishes, preparing mood boards, creating accurate measurements and technical drawings, and coordinating with vendors or fabricators to confirm feasibility. You will also conduct site visits when needed, track project progress, update documentation, and ensure designs comply with safety, building codes, and client brand or style guidelines. The role involves maintaining clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders, managing timelines, and supporting continuous improvement of design standards and templates.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in interior design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Revit, or similar), with the ability to create precise floor plans, elevations, and 3D visualizations.
  • Strong modular design skills, including space planning, cabinetry and storage design, and knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, and fittings commonly used in modular interiors.
  • Ability to interpret client requirements, develop creative yet practical design concepts, and adapt designs to budget, timeline, and site constraints.
  • Solid understanding of basic construction methods, joinery details, measurement techniques, and coordination with installation or fabrication teams.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with clients, sales representatives, and project teams, including the ability to present and explain design proposals clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and revisions simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in modular interiors.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety standards, and ergonomic principles relevant to interior layouts is preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience with modular interiors (kitchens, wardrobes, offices, or similar) is highly beneficial.
