Assistant Professor, Toxicology - Emergency Medicine, McGovern Medical School

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Medical Toxicology.

The Section of Medical Toxicology performs bedside consultations for toxicology and addiction medicine at Memorial Hermann TMC. Duties will include direct clinical care (~10 days of call per month), supervision of consult service rotators (emergency medicine residents, medical students), and residency education.

Position

Key Accountabilities:

* Providing clinical service and supervision of medical care in the Emergency Center at Memorial Hermann and Harris Health Lyndon

B. Johnson Hospital.

* Providing direct delivery of medical care in the Emergency Center, collaborating with other multi-disciplinary treatment team members, including consultants, as needed, and participating in department quality assurance activities.

* Working a defined number of clinical hours a month, with additional protected time allocated for research, administrative, and educational activities. Clinical hours reductions will be determined by roles within the department and the medical school.

* Participating in the Department's teaching activities, including both the medical student and house staff educational programs, didactic conferences, seminars, lectures, and case presentations, as well as your enthusiastic support of our Department's professional activities.

Qualifications:

* MD/DO

* Board-eligible or board-certified in medical toxicology.

* Experience in addiction medicine.
