Location: Deatsville
The ACE/Prep Instructor is responsible for teaching Alabama Career Essentials (ACE), Reentry Skills (PREP), and other pre-employment-related programs, including financial literacy, entrepreneurial, and essential skills courses. This position requires advanced communication and customer service skills and the ability to motivate adult learners. Listed below are the primary responsibilities for this position; however, the Director of Reentry Services or his/her designee may assign other professional duties to meet the College's needs.
This is a full-time position splitting work hours between Jasper Day Reporting Center Lite & Calera Day Reporting Center Lite.
Calera DRCL:
Monday and Tuesday 8:00-3:30
Jasper DRCL:
Wednesday and Thursday 8:00-3:30
Will alternate Fridays between each site 8:00-3:30
* Teaches pre-employment training courses using instructional methods geared toward adult learners.
* Teaches the ACE curriculum and prepares students for the Work Keys test.
* Provides instruction in financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and essential workforce skills.
* Plans lessons and curriculum for culturally diverse and multi-skill-level students.
* Monitors student progress and provides needed academic support.
* Presents instructional content effectively in classroom or lab settings.
* Implements group, individualized, and computer-based instructional methods.
* Administers TABE and Work Keys assessments.
* Maintains accurate registration, attendance, and assessment records.
* Maintains instructional materials and classroom inventory.
* Works a flexible schedule, including evenings or weekends when required.
* Demonstrates professionalism, cultural awareness, and commitment to student success.
* Must be eligible to enter any/all DOC, FCI, and Pardons & Paroles facilities.
* Complies with ACCS and J.F. Ingram State Technical College policies and procedures.

REQUIRED:
* Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
* Must be eligible to enter DOC, FCI, and Pardons & Paroles facilities for job duties.
PREFERRED:
* Experience in business or industry is preferred.

Salary Range:
Salary will be determined by placement on the appropriate Alabama Community College System-approved salary schedule. D3 $ 31,289- $52,194 for a nine-month contract; summer employment may be available, dependent on enrollment. D3 $ 10,430 - $ 17,397 for a three-month contract.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.
