Position Summary
We are seeking a University Student Assistant to gain campus work experience in various departments. Duties include assisting staff and faculty with research preparation, classroom instruction, departmental operational needs, administrative support, and projects related to the Honors College. Responsibilities also involve drafting weekly emails and newsletters, maintaining the Honors social and study rooms, covering scheduled events, and participating in recruitment functions such as preview days and admitted student days.
The student must be willing to complete online vehicle training if needed and work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Honors Program
Salary$8.25 per hour (max 20 hours per week)
Duties & Responsibilities- Assist with day‑to‑day operation of the Honors Program.
- Help maintain the Honors Program office.
- Perform additional duties as required by the department.
- Enrolled as a JSU student taking at least 3 credit hours per fall or spring semester.
- First‑time students must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher (if not first‑time, GPA 2.00 or higher).
- Provide evidence of enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or MyJSU printout).
- All international students must have valid immigration status.
- Must be enrolled full‑time and possess the following documents:
- Passport from their country.
- F‑1 Student Visa or J‑1 Exchange Student Visa.
- U.S. Customs Form I‑94.
- Official photo identification.
- Official Social Security Card with “Valid for Work Only” or similar statement.
