Position SummaryAdmissions Student Workers are responsible for staffing the front desk in the Office of Admissions. Student workers answer incoming calls, assist with packing outgoing mail, answer emails and text messages, make outgoing calls as directed, assist with set-up for campus events, and help with other tasks as needed. A high level of customer service must always be displayed in this position.
Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualifications, and departmental needs. Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.
- Greeting visitors professionally and respectfully at the front desk
- Excellent customer service skills
- Administrative duties such as answering phone calls, assisting with outgoing mail, answering emails and text messages
- Assist with setup and tear down of campus events
- Additional duties as required by the department
- Applicants must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three (3) hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below. *)
- If not a first-time student, the applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
- Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJSU).
