Instructor of Spanish

Summary

This position is in the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavioral Sciences. The position is a full-time (9-month) non-tenure-track position in the Department of English and Modern Languages.

• Teach undergraduate courses in Spanish.
• Participate in the activities of the department, college, and university including recruitment and new course development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Master's degree in Spanish, Spanish Education, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing, and listening).
• At least one (1) year to three (3) years of teaching experience at the college level – Spanish courses.
• Must have evidence of excellence in teaching.
• Experience in teaching elementary and intermediate language courses.
• It is highly desirable that candidates be familiar with innovative teaching techniques and best practices in pedagogy.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
• Demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with university colleagues within a diverse environment.
• Program development.
• Ability to be adaptable, collegial, and dedicated to student-centered and intensive teaching.
