Job SummaryThe David L. Walters Department of Music at Jacksonville State University seeks candidates for an adjunct faculty position in Voice. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate applied voice and assist with opera/musical productions. Additional classes/duties may be assigned based on the department's needs. Other responsibilities include maintaining an active performance presence on a regional or national level and membership in regional and national professional voice organizations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Teach applied lessons for undergraduate voice students (music majors and non-majors).
- Prepare students for juries, recitals, and ensemble auditions.
- Collaborate with the music faculty to support the overall voice program and student success.
- Attend departmental meetings and events as requested.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students in both performance and career development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A master’s degree in vocal performance is required or 18 graduate credits.
- Potential for a successful career as a studio voice teacher with experience in opera and musical theatre.
- Ability to teach all voice types in various genres and styles.
- Ability to accompany applied voice lessons and opera/musical productions.
