Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Associate's Degree or higher in welding or a related field
- Three (3) AWS Performance Tests (must include two required and one optional from the list below):
Required (at least two): - SMAW 3-G or 3-F uphill progression (D1.1)
- GTAW 3-G or 3-F uphill progression (Steel, D1.1)
- FCAW 3-G or 3-F uphill progression (D1.1)
- Optional (at least one):
- GTAW 3-G or 3-F uphill progression (Aluminum, D1.1)
- GMAW 3-G or 3-F uphill progression (D1.1, 4G, 5G, NOCTI Welding 5279)
- Military experience
- One of the Master Level Occupational Proficiencies
Minimum Experience:
Seven (7) of the last ten (10) years of industry welding experience with a minimum of 12,600 work hours OR an Associate's Degree with three (3) of the last five (5) years of industry welding experience and a minimum of 6,000 work hours
Other Criteria:
Strong ethical and moral character; mature and stable; able to work well with others; good public relations skills. Must pass a new background check.
Salary:
According to the Lamar County Board of Education Salary Schedule for this position.
