The Student Success Coach is responsible for providing individualized care and support for students who are conditionally admitted position oversees student assistance relying on assessment and theory-based interventions while maintaining records and reporting ongoing progress. Student Success Coaches are responsible for implementing strategies designed to increase student success and university retention rates.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assesses all students in caseload using the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI).
- Provides interventions based on individual assessment scores that will focus on academic, social, and life skills development.
- Assists with planning and facilitating academic recovery programming using a variety of theoretical approaches and institutional data.
- Serves as the first contact for students’ concerns, issues, and needs.
- Tracks students’ academic progress and record coaching meeting reports in EAB Navigate.
- Works collaboratively with faculty, student support staff/services, and other university personnel.
- Conducts formative and summative evaluations, creates accurate reports using Microsoft Excel, and disseminates information to appropriate administration.
- Conducts ongoing research regarding student retention.
- Adheres to operating policies and procedures within the Student Success Center.
- Participates in University sponsored preview and recruitment days.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or other related field.
- at least one (1) year experience in higher education or student support.
- Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or other related field.
- at least two (2) years experience in higher education or student support.
