Instructor or Assistant Professor, Teacher Education
Jacksonville State University’s College of Education and Professional Studies is seeking a scholar to serve as an Instructor or Assistant Professor in Teacher Education.
The faculty member will facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts, skills, and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society. The position is designed to provide educational services to traditional and non‑traditional students during day or evening hours, and may require teaching courses on campus, off‑campus, online, and/or via videoconferencing.
Responsibilities- Facilitate student learning in Teacher Education.
- Teach courses within the concentration area across various delivery methods (on‑campus, off‑campus, online, videoconferencing).
- Support diverse student groups and promote inclusive practices.
- Instructor level:
Master’s degree in Special Education or Elementary Mathematics Education or related field. - Assistant Professor level:
Doctorate in Special Education or Elementary Mathematics Education or related field. - Minimum 6 years of teaching experience in P‑12 schools, preferably within one or both required fields.
- Documented success working with diverse student groups.
- Experience teaching and supporting students in K‑12 school settings.
