Instructional Systems Specialist with Security Clearance

Position: INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance

Duties
1. Plans, develops, executes and evaluates a comprehensive range of education and training programs.
2. Evaluates courses, making adjustments as necessary to curricula, teaching methodologies, schedules, etc., based on internal and external evaluation analysis including graduate and supervisor feedback, and input from other instructors.
3. Develops and maintains professional contacts with a variety of levels and organizational elements, Major Commands, Air Staff, DoD, and other government/non-government agencies.
4. Manages all programming actions associated with the assigned courses.
5. Accomplishes special projects:
Develops and implements special projects designed to resolve issues, improve education or training, respond to specific taskings, answer internal and external inquiries, or correct deficiencies. Requirements Conditions of employment

The incumbent is subject to random drug testing Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions Group Standard, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1750, Instructional Systems Series.

* Basic Requirement for GS-1750-12 INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST: A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must include study in at least four of the following five areas: (1) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology; (2) Instructional design practices (3) Educational evaluation (4) Instructional product OR (5) Computers in education and training.

Some positions in this series may specialize in one or two functional areas, where more specific academic preparation may be necessary. For such positions, agencies may require course work in the applicable functional area(s) as part of the above-required 24 semester hours. One year of specialized experience for GS-1750-12 which includes professional concepts, principles, methods, techniques, and practices of the instructional systems field; learning theory; instructional development methods to develop and make adaptations or extensions of instructional materials; instructional program planning methods and techniques; create plans for the evaluation of training programs; research, collect data, and prepare interpretations of results and recommendations within a training program.
